What are some good, super healthy foods?

obviously fruit and vegeables are good for you
and almonds and tuna I know about
what other stuff should you be eating on a diet?

A good guide to what the healthiest fruits and vegies are, are the ones with most intense colurs, eg: Blueberries. Other berries are good but these are the best. Sweet potatoes, spinach, broccoli, carrots, beets, kiwi fruit and guavas.

Walnuts have the most nutrition of any nut. Things like flax seed and linseed are good. Soy products are very good for you and you can reduce calories by using wholemeal/brown version of bread and rice and pasta.

Salmon would have to be more nutritious than tuna also.

Switch all of your bread, cereal and pasta products to whole grain versions. More fiber and makes you feel full. I was reading yesterday that the various types of fad diets (low/no carb, high protein, etc.) were not as good for long term weight loss as just learning to eat differently and that total calories in, calories out are what you should be looking at for weight loss.

A friend of mine at work was quite heavy and lost a lot of weight (and has kept it off for over two years) simply by eating "backwards". She eats her largest meal of the day for breakfast, a medium meal for lunch and then a small meal, such as one would normally have for a weekday breakfast, for dinner. She snacks on fresh fruits and veggies in between - usually about twice a day.

Good luck and don't think of it as a diet! Think of it as learning to eat sensibly.
