Could someone give me some sound advice on renting out a 1 bedroom home with a full bath, kitchen & den? How much would this go for on the market? The house is kind of tiny like a 1 bedroom apartment.

I found my renter on Craigslist.com for 600 a month- all utilities included.

its called a starter home (even if you are just renting). newly married – kid on the way. The "den" is perfect for a Nursery, Emphasise low utility costs and easy to maintain
use words like "cozy","quaint",or "cottage" to describe a small place.
Can't help with rent though, that is market driven and we don't know what market location you are in.

While one bedroom homes are not in much demand these days, you'll probably find one sooner or later. It is impossible to even guess at what amount the rent would be because there are so many unknown variables which will be a factor in this. But I can tell you that prices are controlled by demand, and demand is always heavily influenced by LOCATION.

I would start with determining the square footage of the house. Second, determine what 1 bedrooms with similar square footage are renting for in your area.
I would then go to craigslist and place the house for rent. The ads are free and many many people use craigslist. I have used CL to sub lease my apartment in Miami Beach and also rent out my extra bedroom. Check it out. You will be surprised of easy it is to use.
